VERY EXCITING NEWS!

We  have had a YES from the National Lottery Community Fund to our grant application for £47K towards the second extension to Edstaston Village Hall!  Together with a grant from Wem Rural Parish Council and Edstaston Village Hall's saved funds we have enough to finish this community project started in 2017 with the generous gift of land by the Price family of Edstaston.

A HOST OF GOLDEN DAFFODILS

Thanks to Edstaston and Coton WI for providing and planting hundreds of daffodil bulbs at Edstaston Village Hall this morning. We can't wait to see how beautiful it will look in Spring!

Thanks also to community members (apologies for lack of photographs - our usual much more diligent photographer is away) who came to spruce up the hall - cleaning windows and gutters, sweeping and clearing the car park, hedge trimming around the entrance gate, moving cupboards to make way for a new fridge/freezer, cobweb removal, cutlery/crockery inventory, paint touch ups etc etc. Many thanks to Corrine for the gorgeous orange cake and chocolate cupcakes - much appreciated by all!

We would like to thank all our supporters for their generous donations towards Edstaston Village Hall’s Buy-a-Leaf fundraising campaign. The majority of the facebook donations were anonymous and we don't want to miss out on thanking absolutely everyone for their generosity.
The stunning Falling Leaf Chandelier was designed by Iestyn Davies of the Contemporary Chandelier Company in Tilley Green and is the crowning glory of our new extension. It wouldn't have been possible without Iestyn's generosity and the funding support from our community.

Grand Opening

The new extension to Edstaston Village Hall was opened by celebrity Greg Davies on Saturday 18th June 2022 followed by a celebration party with music by fantastic local band Halcyon. Greg was presented with a portrait of him painted by local artist Bev Horsley.

The Edstaston Village Hall committee would like to give heartfelt thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to improve this valued resource. It was terrific to see it filled with community members young and old who have all contributed to this wonderful achievement.
